The School is dedicated to public service and social justice. It offers undergraduate and graduate certificate and degree programs in labor relations, public policy, public administration, health care administration, community studies, community leadership, labor studies, and urban studies. These programs are designed to meet the needs of working adults as well as traditional-age college students who seek to learn more about the challenges confronting poor and working-class populations in the workplace and the community. Its faculty includes distinguished scholars in the social sciences and expert practitioners in government, labor, and public service. In 2015, SLU established the Learning Hub, which offers an array of programming to support SLU students in their coursework, including both one-to-one sessions and workshops. Staffed by professionals with years of teaching experience, the Hub has hosted over 4,000 appointments, with between a quarter and a third of all SLU students utilizing this resource each semester. As the Hub experiences rapid expansion, it seeks a new Assistant Director to provide expertise over several areas of the unit???s crux programming. This includes writing programming, the Capstone Mentor program, digital portfolios, digital projects, curriculum development and faculty development. The successful candidate will increase the Hub???s outreach to the SLU community and respond to their needs while augmenting the brand and identity of the unit. The Assistant Director of the Learning Hub may also contribute scholarship to writing studies and/or learning center journals. Reporting to the Associate Director of the SLU Learning Hub, the Assistant Director will:
NOTE: Until further notice, work will be performed in a hybrid manner with 70% onsite presence. All CUNY employees must reside within a commutable distance to the tri-state area.
