Internal Number: 1288 Advisor in the Early Childhood Special and General Education Program Bank Street Graduate School of Education, is looking for a fieldwork advisor for the on campus Early Childhood Special and General Education Program for the 2022-2023 academic year. 12 credits/6 credits per semester Dates: September 1, 2022- June 30, 2023 The advisement process is central to all Bank Street College Graduate School programs. Advisors work closely with each student, becoming familiar with the student’s work in the field through monthly observations and bi-monthly individual conferences. The advisor also meets weekly online for 2 hours with her or his group of students in the advisement conference group in the fall and spring semesters. Through the advisement process, the advisor plays an important role in enabling students to integrate theory and practice, reflect deeply on their own development, and create a professional learning community with peers. The advisor supports the development of each graduate student’s proficiency as a teacher of young children with and without disabilities in a diverse range of settings with students, families and other professionals in the field. In addition, the advisor provides academic guidance to their advisees and participates in the larger life of the graduate school through program, department, and advisor meetings.
