The successful candidate will work as part of a large interdisciplinary team on a recently funded longitudinal project (R01 NS123445) that will re-evaluate and follow a cohort of healthy individuals who were comprehensively characterized prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequently experienced mild SARS-CoV-2 infection. The candidate will focus on the neuroimaging and data analysis portions of the project.
The position offers an excellent opportunity to work in an established and stable research environment, address questions of great public health relevance, and to innovate approaches to quantitative multimodality neuroimaging and analysis, integrated with a wide array of clinical and laboratory assessments. QUALIFICATIONSCandidates must have a doctoral degree in a relevant scientific discipline; neuroimaging, systems neuroscience, computer science, engineering or physics are preferred. Experience with processing and analysis of MR imaging data and strong computational and programming skills are essential. Montefiore-Einstein Radiology has over 75 FTE radiologists and a large array of imaging facilities across 3 acute care hospitals, a dedicated children's hospital as well as multiple satellite clinics across the metropolitan areas, conducive to clinical research. The Gruss Magnetic Resonance Research Center (Radiology) has 9 imaging research faculty and an array of research-dedicated human and animal imaging scanners. Other Radiology research activities include 3D printing and theranostics.
A postdoctoral fellowship position is available immediately in the Translational Neuroimaging Laboratory (TNL) based in the Gruss Magnetic Resonance Research Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, part of Montefiore Medicine. The TNL is led by Dr. Michael L Lipton and pursues preclinical and clinical research to characterize brain mechanisms that mediate neurobehavioral function in traumatic brain injury, and normal development/aging, and how these relationships are mediated by individual characteristics such as sex and genes.
