Position Title: Assistant Director, Regional Admissions (Mid-Atlantic)

Supervisor: Director of Admissions

Manhattan College is seeking a consultant to serve as the Assistant Director of Admissions for the Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. region. The Assistant Director will be responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of students from the region. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to attending college fairs, high school visits, CBO and IEC presentations, spring college nights, college summer camps, decisioning all applications from their region and aid in the yield of admitted students. The ideal candidate will need to work well independently, have outstanding territory and management skills and must leverage existing contacts within their region. The Assistant Director will maintain extensive personal contact with prospects, parents, counselors, and other educational and arrange off-campus recruitment, yield programs, interviews and reception sites. While the Assistant Director is a regional position, they will also oversee projects within and as part of the admissions office.

A good deal of evening and weekend work will be required, as will extensive travel within the designated territory and occasional visits to campus for training and events. It is preferred that the candidate reside within the most populated or central area of their designated territory.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish clear regional recruitment and yield strategies and goals, participate in the application review process for first-year and transfer applicants; coordinate relationships with colleagues who serve students in college access.
• Travel extensively within the designated region and plan accepted student yield events; develop data-driven strategies for recruitment in and effectiveness of efforts in the region.
• Implement communication strategies with students, parents and counselors; respond to inquiries from prospects, inquiries and applicants; counsel prospective students and families on academic programs, costs and scholarships, housing options, student life and student services.
• Provide leadership, direction, advocacy, communication, and coordination for prospective students and families within the designated region and to the admissions team; participate in on- and off-campus meetings and functions as determined by the Supervisor.
• Participate in regular professional development and networking opportunities including the regional ACAC affiliate(s), NACAC and NARAC.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of three to five years of experience in an undergraduate admission office.
• Effective time management skills and organizational skills as well as strong analytical skills to monitor development of territory.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal and public speaking experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel
• Fully remote, must live in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia or Washington, D.C. and be able and willing to travel extensively throughout the region and to visit campus.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Strong experience with event planning and service to students/parents
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willing and able to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. Stand and walk for extended periods of time as well as lift and transport forty (40) pounds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree
• Experience with high schools, community colleges, independent counselor groups and community-based organizations in the designated region.
• Experienced regional counselor.
• Experience with Slate, Banner, Microsoft Tools and Google Apps suite.
• Knowledge of current recruiting trends and codes of ethics.

Salary: $61,000-$65,000
