The Director of Experiential and Community Engaged Learning is a new leadership position that will support Baruch College???s 2023-2028 strategic plan which includes, as one way to maximize students??? potential to succeed, ???Provide learning opportunities that are flexible, dynamic,
experiential, and connected to New York City.??? The new Director is responsible for leading, directing, developing, implementing, and coordinating this effort to expand experiential learning opportunities linked to courses and academic activities including student research and community learning opportunities off campus.
Reporting initially to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs (and eventually to the Associate Provost for Teaching, Learning, and Student Success), the Director of Experiential and Community Engaged Learning will:
- create and maintain an inventory of potential partners in industry, government, community, and cultural organizations that provide experiential learning opportunities ( other than internships or coop programs )
- Identify and build relationships with new and prospective partner organizations
- Define affiliation agreements with community partners
- Significantly expand student research opportunities
- Produce the annual student research and creativity expo
- Collaborate with campus stakeholders to secure external funding to support student research and other experiential learning opportunities
- Produce and distribute reports in the areas of responsibility
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor???s degree required, advanced degree strongly preferred (see following).Minimum eight years of experience required in positions of progressive responsibility suitable to appointment at the Director level. Experience working with both faculty and students highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduatedegree in higher ed administration, adult learning, community engagement, or related field strongly preferred
Experience working with community partner organizations highly desirable
Experience placing students in community settings highly desirable
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively handle and prioritize multiple tasks
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability
Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to build strong relationships in an environment with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to provide guidance to senior leadership and managers and build strong relationships
Experience planning, developing, and leading administrative process improvement and process innovation
Excellent computer skills, including with Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and web publishing systems (such as WordPress).
Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards of conduct
Administrative experience in higher education, public sector, or comparable complex environment

Directs curriculum development and operations of a College's specialized academic program under executive oversight.
- Designs, implements and monitors a comprehensive academic program development plan
- Administers all curricular, administrative, and financial aspects of the program
- Oversees program evaluation efforts and creates strategic plan to further develop program offerings
- Manages annual budget; develops proposals and other initiatives for expanded program support
- Cultivates and maintains strategic partnerships; serves as primary liaison to faculty and administrators to plan and execute programming activities
- May participate in faculty recruitment efforts
- Manages professional and clerical staff
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary range: $107,789-$119,995; salary commensurate with education and experience.
