The Home-School Connections (HSC) research team at NYU Steinhardt

NYU's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development seeks to hire a part-time project assistant who will support the development of interventions geared to supporting children's development by incorporating culturally responsive storytelling practices into early childhood and early elementary schools and classrooms. The project assistant will be involved in the following activities related to the project.

Responsibilities:

·      Assist with the preparation of materials related to a classroom-based literacy program

·      Assist with analysis of data

·      Assist with grant writing 

Qualifications:

·      Previous experience with R-SUCCESS and experience as a program coordinator are required

·      Experience creating culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate stories and ancillary materials

·      Graduate degree in language development, linguistics, psychology, education or a related field

·      Experience working with young children, families, and schools

·      Experience mentoring undergraduates

·      Exemplary writing skills and experience with grant writing

·      Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·      Effective organizational and time-management skills
