Division/Department Information

The Department of Administrative and Instructional Leadership (DAIL) in The School of Education at St. John's University invites applicants to apply for a tenure-track position at the rank of Clinical Associate Professor with a primary focus on teaching, scholarship, and service in the fields of educational and instructional leadership. Duties associated with this position include: 1) teaching graduate courses across DAIL programs with a focus on the advanced certificate programs in district and school building leadership, 2) advising and mentoring doctoral students, 3) engaging in research, scholarly writing, and grant work, and 4) serving on program, department, school, and university committees, when appropriate. Faculty are expected to teach at all NY locations and online.

Qualifications

Ideal applicants will have earned doctoral degree in educational leadership or a related field. They will have a minimum of five years of experience at the school district leadership level, a clear research agenda, a record of scholarship and experience teaching at the graduate level.

Dissertation mentoring experience is preferred. Applicants should have a research agenda that relates to K-12 education with expertise in qualitative or quantitative research methods.

Candidates will have a proven track-record of being a change agent in K-12 schools and will have the following responsibilities:

• Teach and coordinate our school leadership courses via in-person, online, and hybrid settings, including the required internship courses
• Cultivate and manage district partnerships
• Advise District and School Building Leader certification students
• Review and revise program curriculum
• Interact with State Department of Education regarding certification policy
