The University of New Haven Career Development Center is seeking an Employer Relations Manager to help grow the relationships and student outcomes driven focus for the Center. This position will focus on serving our diverse student community by identifying, targeting, and building relationships with employers for the purpose of creating equitable opportunities for underrepresented students. The position will lead employer outreach to engage diversity hiring programs offered by employers, build early career pathways for underrepresented students, and support international students in their internship and post-grad employment programs. This position will work closely with college-based Career Advisors to engage first generation students, underrepresented students, and international students in career readiness programs.

CORE DUTIES:

• Working with the Employer Relations team, this position will manage a portfolio of employers focused on increasing diversity hiring, including international student friendly employers, DEI internship and pathway programs, and government/non-profit sector opportunities. Will discern organizational commitment to DEI and connect students to opportunities.
• Will develop relationships with alumni, recruiters, business managers, and human resources staff in a variety of organizations that lead to on-campus recruiting, site visits, and repeat recruiting opportunities. Target and build alumni networks focused on increasing equitable access to jobs, internships, and related experiential opportunities for international students specifically, and our diverse community in general.
• Become a subject matter expert in international student visa regulations, work authorization programs (CPT, OPT), and issues related to foreign workers in the US, first generation students, and diversity/equity/access/inclusion as it relates to employment and campus recruiting.
• Prepare students, in conjunction with CDC colleagues, for on-campus recruiting programs. Develop collaborative career programming with faculty, Center for Diversity and Inclusion, Athletics, and International Services Office.    
• Attend local and regional networking and recruiting events, make on-site employer visits, and host employer visits on campus. 
• Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate all aspects of the On-Campus Recruiting Program including employer information sessions (manage employer schedules, secure space for campus interviews, market OCR jobs to student, host employers while on campus for interviews or information sessions, summarize program data and outcomes, collect employer feedback through various means) 

SECONDARY DUTIES:

• Work closely with the employer relations team to coordinate activities, set up and run recruiting events, maintain employer related data, and conduct follow ups with employer partners, as needed.  
• Conduct direct outreach and support to diverse student population to provide information, resources, and career readiness programs to targeted populations.
• Schedule on-campus recruiting events, organize interview schedules, arrange virtual and live employer engagements, and maintain participation data.
• Develop proficiency with recruiting system (AcadeME) to assist in posting opportunities and connecting students with employers

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required AND 2+ years' experience in employment recruiting, DEI programming, business development, sales, human resources, or related business-to-business consulting OR some equivalent combination of education and experience. Specific experience in higher education is desired, but not required.
• Previous experience working with diverse student populations and/or job seekers, with familiarity with visa regulations is preferred, but not required.
• Strong skills in interpersonal communication, relationship development, follow up, contact management, and needs assessment. Ability to handle multiple tasks and constant interruptions.
• Willingness to travel within the Boston-New York City corridor.
• Strong technical skills to maintain data records, conduct internet searches, organize and share information, and update online resources.
