Work Week: Standard (M-F equal number of hours per day) University Job Title: Assistant Dean of Student Affairs Required Skill/ability 1: Excellent organizational, planning, management, supervision and leadership skills. Ability to inspire others to perform at their best, and to set high standards of performance for self and staff. Required Skill/ability 4: Demonstrated counseling skills. A strong understanding of best practices in student affairs (e.g., NASPA, ACPA, NODA, ASCA). Appreciation and respect for principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ability to engage with diverse individuals (age, gender, nationality, race/ethnicity, profession, sexual orientation, etc.). Required Skill/ability 2: Demonstrated ability to engage in collaborative management of programs. Superb interpersonal skills and the ability to respectfully work with a diverse group of people. Commitment to and ability to clearly communicate the values and purposes of a highly selective liberal arts university. 1. Master's degree in a related discipline and one year of experience in academic administration or management or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in public health approaches to sexual misconduct prevention and alcohol and other drug harm reduction initiatives. 3. Experience in program development, education and outreach efforts, and staff training. 4. Experience in student life in a highly-selective, liberal arts environment.
