The Rockefeller University seeks a Research Support Specialist, High Throughput Screening Resource Center to join High Throughput Screening Resource Center. The Research Support Specialist will join the High Throughput and Spectroscopy Resource Center (HTSRC) and assist in guiding our faculty and students in improving the efficiency of their bioassays, identifying compounds and genetic modulators of function, and implementing novel technologies applied to the analysis of molecular recognition. The Research Support Specialist will be responsible for developing and conducting biochemical, cell-based, and biophysical assays and high throughput screens (HTS). Will train technicians, graduate students, and postdocs in the technical implementation of spectroscopy, tool, and drug discovery projects, pipetting, design of HTS experiments, and use of instruments. The Research Support Specialist will evaluate new technologies and approaches for HTS and spectroscopy, as well as contribute to the writing of scientific manuscripts and composition of methods, figures, and figure legends for published materials. Responsibilities will also include procuring necessary repairs, and maintaining and independently troubleshooting equipment, including microplate readers, high-throughput microscopes, spectroscopic instruments, and automated liquid dispensers. #INDRE
Ph.D. required; educational emphasis in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, or chemical biology preferred. Experience working with users in the design of HTS experiments and the use of instruments preferred. Must be skilled in data organization, analysis, entry and interpretation. Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
