The Rockefeller University seeks a Research Assistant, Retrovirology to join Retrovirology. The Laboratory is looking for highly intelligent and motivated Research Assistant that is interested in pursuing a career in medicine and/or scientific research. The Research Assistant will work on projects aiming to understand the interaction between cellular proteins and viruses, specifically HIV-1 and SARS-CoV-2. Responsibilities include working on experiments in molecular virology, recombinant DNA, flow cytometry and cell culture under the direct supervision of a Senior Research Associate.
Bachelor's degree in science required. Prior laboratory experience is also a must, specifically working in molecular biology and tissue culture. Experience in recombinant DNA techniques and/or cell culture required. Must have the ability to work independently as well as alongside others. Must also possess keen attention to detail and be well-organized, with the ability to maintain a careful record of the work performed.
