The incumbent will provide clerical assistance to faculty and students (e.g. providing copies of evaluations, other documents, etc.) and serve as the receptionist at the Peekskill Extension Center by answering phones, providing information to students, etc. The P/T Office Assistant will use computer applications and/or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, email and database software, etc. in performing work assignments. The P/T Office Assistant will be on hand to solve problems, contact support personnel (as needed), open rooms, etc., updating the Director of the center on any items that need attention or items that were resolved, etc. Specific duties may vary depending upon assignment.
WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule will be 20 hours per week. The work schedule may include evenings and weekends.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: The position will remain open until filled.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $12.60. No benefits.

The successful candidate must possess a high school or equivalency diploma and three years of experience where a primary function of the position was performing general office/clerical work, two years of which must have included the use of computer applications to maintain automated records or produce correspondence, spreadsheets, forms, reports or other documents. The candidate must be customer-service oriented and have the ability to work with a diverse student body, faculty and staff. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
