Whittier College is seeking a broadly-trained Biologist with expertise in genetics to fill a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor beginning September 1, 2020. Successful candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education and a dedication to innovative and effective teaching that prepares a diverse student body for future success. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph.D. in Cellular or Molecular Biology and a research interest in genetics. Teaching responsibilities will include contributing to an introductory level cell and molecular biology course and advanced level biology courses, including genetics, with laboratories, as well as, courses that support our liberal arts curriculum. Additionally, candidates will be expected to develop and maintain an active research program, appropriate in a small college environment, that engages undergraduate students.
