NYU Dentistry seeks an innovative individual with a demonstrated record of leadership and administrative achievement in dental education at the program or institutional level to assume the role of Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs.
This is a full-time faculty/administrative position that reports directly to the Senior Associate Dean for Education. The duties of the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs include: assuring collaboration with relevant agencies including University, NYS Department of Education, and national educational agencies/organizations; ensuring the successful operation of the faculty evaluation system; oversight of the curriculum management plan and the annual academic calendar; assuring institutional evaluations for students applying for post-graduate positions; serving as a liaison (for or with the Senior Associate Dean for Education) to the curriculum committee, class promotions committees, and committee on academic review and standards.
Qualified candidates should have a DDS/DMD from a CODA accredited dental school, a history of leadership positions in dental schools or post-graduate programs (minimum of 5 years preferred), excellent inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills, and management expertise. A demonstrated history of success in fostering a collaborative environment in order to further the College’s mission and goals is desired. Familiarity with outcomes assessment and organizational quality improvement to ensure educational and institutional effectiveness is preferred.
